Championing Justice and Sustainability

Grace is a second year GLOW scholar pursuing Law at the University of Embu, where she is a member of the Legal Aid Clinic Club. She provides free legal assistance to members of the community, particularly those in need of support within the justice system.

One of her recent engagements involved visiting the Embu prison for men. Here, she offered legal advice to inmates, especially those awaiting trial. She also shared knowledge and resources needed to navigate their legal challenges.

However, Grace's contributions extend far beyond the courtroom. She is also actively involved in raising awareness about pressing environmental issues, particularly through her participation in the Moot Court competition on Climate Justice.

Representing her school, Grace and her team showcased their oral advocacy skills, addressing the dire need for sustainable development and climate justice. Grace eloquently emphasized the need for clean energy, proper waste management, and the protection of trees to ensure a harmonious balance between development and environmental preservation.

As they reached the semi-finals her hard work in legal advocacy and environmental awareness was recognized and celebrated.
