Our Story
GLOW breaks the cycle of poverty and transforms the future of young women. By supporting college education of future female leaders, GLOW aids these students in bringing systematic change to deep-rooted issues of poverty, health, education, and gender inequality.
We envision a brighter future for young women who have defied impossible odds by empowering their dreams to transform their communities, country, and the world.
Our Story
Jeni Lowry began GLOW Foundation in September of 2017 out of her passion to see young women succeed through furthering their education. After her visit to Daraja Academy in Kenya, she grew to understand that many of these young women were unable to attend college for financial reasons, despite their tenacity for learning and academic achievements. Jeni could not sit back and watch some of the hardest working girls she’d ever come across return to their villages to seek menial employment in a country with over 35% unemployment.
Upon witnessing Daraja's impact, enabling girls to attend and graduate high school, Jeni decided to help the girls continue their dreams of furthering their education and careers by creating a scholarship program. Without Daraja, none of these girls would have been able to finish high school and now, without GLOW Foundation, these girls would not have the opportunity to finish college.
Jeni would love your help in directly changing the course of these girls' lives and as GLOW Foundation grows, help many others in similar situations throughout the world. Jeni recognizes first hand, that together, we can make a HUGE impact on these young women, their family, and the future of their community through GLOW scholarship programming.
