Lilian’s Story
Combining her passions and tutoring skills, Lilian seeks to be the type of teacher who makes a lasting impact on her students. A 2020 college graduate with a degree in Education from Kenyatta University, Lilian wants to help the underserved youth who are the most likely to give up. She knows that they need help and guidance to prove they can change their life path.

“Success to me means achievement, to have people look up to you as a role model, mentor, friend, and most of all, an achiever. Success means that people will stop presuming you as just nobody but a mature and literate being to be involved in discussions and decision making in meetings. Success means respect in society.”

When Lilian thought there was no hope for finding support to get through college, GLOW Foundation provided not only the scholarship necessary to support her studies, but also a platform of success through leadership seminars, mentoring, and the GLOW Accountability Buddy System. Lilian now spends her time teaching, mentoring youth, and advising students on career paths so that girls like her are prepared to achieve their goals and dreams.
