Purity’s Story
Purity dreams of becoming a software developer who creates programs to help people improve their daily lives by making work more efficient. She currently volunteers her skills in CISCO certification, network security, and coding in order to polish her technical knowledge. Purity works diligently to prepare for employment after college while also using her skills to support her community.
Purity during community service
Purity uses her free time to use her advanced skills in technology to help other students develop websites and code for fun. She also uses this skill as an asset to her side-hustles by making money through offering VPN (private network) services to students as well as helping students with editing schoolwork. Purity is currently using her free time by taking online courses to achieve technical certification and training in cyber security and Python coding.
Purity’s socioeconomic and family background created massive barriers to her education. Through all her mother’s hard work, it was never enough for education.
As a GLOW scholar, Purity now has the support necessary to complete college and achieve her long-term goals. She is the first in her family to attend college.

“GLOW is helping me to help other people out there because if GLOW wasn’t there for my future, it would be cut short. How would I be, then? Now, I am able to communicate with the world and tell other people that GLOW is bringing people together, educating them, and helping other people out there when they get an education. In this world, we need more knowledge and GLOW is helping us to expand our knowledge so we can help other people and create a better world.”
